I don't like it when people toot their own horn like this, but I will say that I was very unimpressed with the UCLA team in Omaha last year. I understood the hype for this year, and they seemed to live up to it all year. I think it's pretty clear the 1 seed and 1 overall seed was warranted based the projections and expectations for this year, and their record.

Yeah, mine was probably a bad take that just worked out due to the gods of baseball, but I couldn’t resist.

This is retarded, they were a legit team all year.

they just got complacent when it came time to deliver

Ultimately the bats let them down in the regional, only scored 13 runs in 3 games with 2 games against the 4 seed.

They had some notable bats at the top but doesnt seem like the depth was necessarily there for them throughout the lineup this season.

All in all, they had an elite season, but baseball sometimes is a funny game, you get cold, other teams are on fire...and #1 overall seed doesnt mean much if you have a slew of your worst games of the season.

They were a legit team with many MLB draft prospects, but they were not in a league of their own above the group of SEC teams still alive in the tournament.

Any time a west coast team is highly rated, in any sport, it's inflated. You have to understand the market size of the media and how absolutely STARVED they are for a winner

I checked a few analytics models yesterday and they were top 3 in all of them.

Yeah they were legit but for some reason the smaller California schools were their kryptonite this year.

They didn’t lose a series all season and played in a Big Ten that was better than it’s been in years. And returned a good chunk of a cws team. They just got upset and complacent. Reminds me of Tennessee a few years ago. “Best” team ever doesn’t even make Omaha.

Didn't both of their losses come on walkoffs? Or at least 1 run games?

Went seen them play a arse Rutgers team and they got pushed to 14 innings On Friday night.. they were victims of over rated Big 10 baseball

they were only better by adding a few good baseball programs from the Pac 10. Oddly enough, UCLA's 2 conference losses were to former Pac 10 teams. The rest of the Big 10 is every bit as bad as it's always been

They had a very talented roster. I don't think Savage is a good game manager. I think he held the team back both this year and last year

19 of their games this year were decided by 2 or fewer runs. They had 30 come from behind wins this year and hadn't lost a game all year when leading after 8. The variance of baseball was going to catch up with them eventually

Ok, cool.

They have plenty of time to read up on all that now. I think today's practice was postponed
