Pretty amazing juxtaposition (and I think the NBA made the right call RE: Sterling).

Throwing him out was probably a little overboard but fully support hefty fines.

However when compared to today's climate in the NBA he should sue the shite out of them for his money back.

What he said was still stupid as shite though.

Those dash marks indicate that the South China Sea and Taiwan belong to China ... they do not

Taiwan is certainly not recognized as an Independent nation by the United States or most of the nearly 200 nation's worldwide. Taiwan is not a member of the UN because few nation's ( maybe a dozen) accepts it's sovereignty.

Until the USA , EU , the UN or any governing body recognizes Taiwan as an independent nation & disniss China's claims (One China Policy) I'll hold out on criticism of ESPN.

Our military still protects Taiwan as if it was an independent country.

and? we have military ties to the island and we also dont recognize the ROC as being controlled by the PRC. we recognize the PRC as "china" and have informal relations with the ROC

He'd have zero leg to stand on in a legal suit. Dude was a demonstrably racist POS (not like the handwringers pretending Trump is a racist, an ACTUAL racist ), a horrible team owner, and a general a-hole on top of all that. He was begging to get the axe for something (surprised he lasted as long as he did), and his little incident just made it easy for the NBA.

It's no coincidence the Clippers have become markedly more competitive since his tenure ended.

In the end, didn't he not actually get thrown out?

Didn't his wife have him declared not mentally capable, she got a judge involved and she got to call the shots, and she decided to sell? Or am I misremembering?

Acting like this is just a made up controversy is as pathetic as these NBA personalities feigning ignorance of China's recent history. Laughable.

I stated that this graphic would not be the big deal the hand wringers here want it to be

And I hate ESPN

Westcoastag said this was “monumental”

Others have predicted/called for an apology

ETA: didn’t you notice that I had to bump this thread for there to be discussion about it again?

ESPN beats its viewers over the head with advertisements and idiocy and they keep coming back for more. You think them posting a map is gonna cause them trouble?
