It would be sweet if Netflix did a series similar to F1’s Drive to Survive covering the race. There would be a lot of unique challenges I imagine, like actually filming it for instance, but I knew nothing about F1 before watching the series, and I enjoyed it so much I’ve watched every race so far this year.

He could do it, but I know he would prefer to still chase mountains. No way they let him go when in yellow. The team’s guy is Mas, but he has very little support. He’s just behind Thomas and Bernal, but I don’t see it. Ineos will likely take it then, unless they let the break take the stage so they don’t have to shoulder it.

Fuglsang looked good today, as well as Pinot. I think those guys challenge Ineos until the end. Movistar will struggle to decide on a guy and usually end up making tactical errors to go along with losing a lot of time on time trials.

The day Bob Roll was forced to do sappy stories instead of analysis is the day the TDF died

Viviani with the stage win. 2 in a row for the Wolf Pack.
Pretty ho-hum stage before the final sprint.
Alaphilippe stays in yellow

It's a fantastic way to waste away a morning at work

Really looking forward to the mountain stages, though.

My fav team for years now. They just go for it. Alaphilippe going for it tomorrow. I think we see a very punchy stage...I like Sagan to challenge tomorrow again and get a stage win. Matthews top challenger, but I think Alaphilippe will try to pop them over the top of last climb and on the downhill.

Of course, we will have to see the makeup of the break, but there are too many teams in contention tomorrow. Also, big GC guys will want to save something for stage 6. A crazy GC guy like Dan Martin may go for some seconds, but I doubt it will be too serious a move.

I have always liked Bobke, if you have a chance you should read his books if you haven't. Fun interesting perspective. That said he isn't Charles Dickens by any stretch but they come across as just a guy telling stories without the tight gripping wording of someone like Hunter S Thompson that could transport you to a scene you knew nothing about.

It is interesting how in just a few years he went from he who shall not be named to having him on for a fairly lengthy interview and supporting his (excellent) podcast.

ETA I'm gonna supertuck on my ride later today just to make Lance turn away in fear. I would look back at other riders but they will all be in front of me...

55 dollars is worth it for commercial free viewing. Plus the other races you get

I'm complaining about the increase. Didn't really have a choice but to get it. Couldn't chase terrible online links at work anyway

Question for the people who cycle/watch cycling a lot: What are thing you actually watch for in the race?

(To give an example of what I mean: When I watch soccer I rarely watch the actual ball. I much prefer to watch individual battles between players, as well as the off ball runs being made.)
