Scenery, team tactics, and history of where they are riding. On face value it's just guys riding their bikes hard for hours, but once you start to understand the sport you realize how much tactics are happening right in front of you. Pro cycling is basically chess but on bikes.

Apparently they are doing the "Super Planche" and going past the normal finish point including a gravel section and a 24% ramp. Woof!

Thank you. I love watching when they ride Tourmalet and Ventoux. I get Alp d Huez is the magic mountain but these hills bring drama.

They paved the gravel section two weeks ago. Christian rode the stage and filmed it before they paved it over, he struggled mightily. They should replay that tonight.
