Run the ball 9 times down the field and the qb gets credit for the td if he makes a 2 yard pass to the endzone.

Every other year - “Brees shouldn’t win it because his D was so bad that he had to throw all the time, inflating his numbers.”
2018 - “Mahomes should win it because his D is so bad that he has to throw the ball all the time, resulting in awesome numbers.”

2012 the Saints were 7-9, that’s not comparable to KC who will at worst be 11-5.

You’re stuck trying to make the argument Saints fans have been trying to make for Brees for 90% of his career with the Saints. If Brees had halfway decent defenses in New Orleans, he’d had 3 MVPs and 2 more Super Bowl rings.

He also broke the TD record. He was far and way the deserving MVP that season.

Your point? Those teams would’ve been 2-14 without brees. Chiefs went 10-6 with Alex smith last year.
