My point is it’s not comparable. Brees wasn’t nor should he have been an MVP candidate in years he had 5000 yards and a boatload of TDs when the team was 7-9. if KC was Mahomes wouldn’t be an MVP candidate this year.

My point being an mvp shouldn’t be a plug and play. Alex smith went 10-6 with the team last year. Chiefs are only 1 game better with mahomes.
Brees had 7-9 seasons with some of the worst defenses to ever take an nfl field at any point in history. No one would’ve won more than 7 with those teams and most would probably win just 2-3.
The best example is the colts without manning when they went 2-14. That team was trash but manning hid it well by being a beast.

Chiefs have scored 40, 51, 28, and 31 points in their losses this year. Mahomes is not losing those games for KC.
