A lot of long athletes on that team. Would definitely be entertaining

Doesn't Carmelo go directly against the Rockets' offensive philosophy?

Plus it's not like Carmelo and D'Antoni didn't have issues when he coached the Knicks. Hell, D'Antoni has admitted the reason he resigned from the Knicks was because of Carmelo.

Just seems like a bad fit.

Hawks never offered Millsap a contract per Paul Millsap. Guess the tank was going on regardless. That decision to take him off the market at the trade deadline was smart.....

Supposedly leaned in that direction for some time now.

Looks like his preparation for the Big3 has something to do with it.

at some point ya just gotta let go of that and say it's a new(-ish) regime with Schlenk. being a Hawks fan is a lesson in letting stuff go lol (passing on Iguodala, passing on CP3, passing on an NBA player for Shelden Williams, Acie Law, Speedy Claxton, etc....)

He might be gone but Chauncey billions has nothing to do with it

Sounded like they didn't offer him the job or didn't offer him the money/control he was looking for

Not getting anything in return for your players is one of the worst things you can do in the NBA. Even if ATL is tanking at least get a first round pick or a young prospect. It just prolongs the rebuild. So now you look at the Hawks and wonder how long will they be bad? Should they resign Hardaway? Should they cut bait with Schroder?

Well yeah I agree but it's done now. I say keep Schroder and let Hardaway walk.

tell that to dell demps.

lets ryno walk, but a lot of people who have broken news before noted he had a 1st rounder on the table.

That 1st rounder could be useful to teams wanting to tank and could be paired with Asik/Ajinca/QPon to clear up some space. Or be used in a deal to acquire talent from teams wanting to tank and getting rid of vets (Bledsoe for example)
