Quarterback is THE most important position in the NFL. If you don't have at least a decent QB your chances of competing for championships are almost nil.

Compared to every other QB who has ever lived, he probably isn't all that great. But compared to all of the draft eligible QB's THIS YEAR he may be the best prospect.

Supply and demand. The demand is always high for QB's and this year the supply is weak.

Add to this, GMs these days are so scared shitless of losing their jobs that they need to go for the high upside/low ceiling types as opposed to safer prospects that can reasonably develop into well-rounded NFL QBs given a few years.

He reminds me of Rex Grossman though. 4th best QB imo

He's strong, athletic, and has a great arm. Seems to be pretty accurate.

If you need a quarterback, he seems to be a pretty good choice.

Why couldn't he heat out the other guy at north Carolina for 3 years then?if this guy was the best qb in the country (if you're saying he should be the first qb taken that's what you're insinuating) shouldn't he have been able to beat put a guy who didn't even make an NFL roster?

He does. There is alot of reasons to not want Trubisky, but his actual stats are there

It would concern me. Picking the a good QB is tough enough. Picking one with a one year sample size, at #1 overall, baffles my mind. Even his performance this year wasn't that good as far as potential #1 overall picks go.

In both freshman and sophomore years, Sam Bradford (in a tougher conference) outperformed Trubisky's junior year season, and BRADFORD hasn't even turned out to be that good. Just don't see how a team can pin their hopes to Trubisky.

If the right guy isn't there, you don't pick the best available just because there's a need. Later on, when the right guy is there, you can't justify getting him because you just picked a guy like Trubisky #1 overall.

He has tools and even looked pretty good this season.

He needs to sit and learn though. He doesn't have much experience.

People get confused because there is no clear cut #1 guy on the board. But there is a lot of raw talent at QB this year. 2-3 are bound to stick as franchise gys. Just because you can't make up your mind on who is the best doesnt mean it is a crap class.

The "other guy", Marquise Williams, won the ACC Coastal and damn near won the ACCCG. I think there were some team chemistry issues going into 2015 and had he not been given the job his senior year those chemistry issues would have been carried over. Trubisky did perform well when he came in for MW that year.

I watched about every game he played in college and he has the "tools"..whether or not they translate to NFL success I don't know. As a Tar Heel fan I'm obviously biased and hope he does well but would not gamble a top 5 pick on him.

I'm looking at his stats right now, and while they are fine, they are nothing spectacular. He doesn't seem to throw a lot of interceptions, but he's not lighting up defenses either.

He has comparable stats to Big Ben in college jr. year...big size, strength, both great in the pocket to avoid the rush with nimble feet for big men and accuracy on the move.

He could be a total bust or he could be another Big Ben. Ben was pretty much a 3 year star...but maybe Trubisky matured later like a lot of athletes and playing better competition with better Qbs ahead of him.

Nobody knows; otherwise there's a guy out there who would be making millions telling everyone.
