That's actually a different rule

He had control while on the ground and the act of going to the ground isn't what forced the ball out. The defender did.

It's another reason why the rule is just absolutely awful

Definitely a catch, both in actuality and by the rules.

How is it? Reached the ball for the goal line in the air, incomplete pass reversed.

Did I miss something because I just caught a few of the replays.

If the ground can't cause a fumble then it shouldn't be able to cause an incompletion either. This is fricking stupid.

It's a shame that we have taken an act so simple as catching a ball and broken it down to this point. By instituting replay to the degree that the league has, and by utilizing amazing technology, they've actually made it too sophisticated.

It's sad that the league has to have former refs in the booth to comment during games.

Was it a catch by the NFL rule? No.

Was it a catch by anybody's standards that has common sense? Yeah.

What's the rule?

3 steps and a dive not enough? What about 4...5...6 steps?

With the ball crossing the plane, those plays aren't even comparable

LM had it with possession across the goal line. Play is over the instant those two come together

I thought it was a catch but I don't care. Bad things happen to shitty fanbases.

That's how that would be called if you removed the end zone

Crossing the plane with possession ends the play immediately making the kicking of the ball irrelevant

What example are we talking about here?

Crossing the plane would be irrelevant in this instance because you still need to confirm whether it was incomplete or not.

so here's my question...if he hits pylon or crosses the plane before he loses the ball, it's a touchdown right? that's what is so fricking dumb about it
