Melo on a Top 5 list is laughable.
Melo is a great scorer, but brings nothing else to an NBA team. We talk about LBJ in the playoffs but at least he has went to two NBA Finals, Melo has lost in the first round something like 6 of 7 years while with the Nuggets.

Holy shite!
You better have Lebron and Ginobli on there if you want me to take you seriously. WTF

He could have won the MVP this season. He might not be the best all-around player, but you can make an argument that he's the best player in the league right now.
Maybe, big maybe, he could've gotten OPY but no way he deserved the MVP.

Everyone said the same thing about Dirk. He wins a ring and all of a sudden he jumps the list.
But you're right. Melo can score...and that's about it. ZERO defense.

Dirk has been in the same spot for me. All season. I have a friend who has had Dirk at #3 all year long. I do not really try to change my rankings much because they are merely reactionary.

any list that doesn't have Lebron in the top 5 is just ridiculous and trying to cater to the anti-Lebron movement.
1. Lebron
2. Durant
3. Howard
4. Wade
5. Kobe
Honorable Mention:
Dirk, Rose, CP3, Manu, Melo, Amare, Deron Williams, Kevin Love

I like that too.

I think people overrate Kobe. He's getting up there in age. Still a great player, no doubt. But he's starting to deteriorate, IMO. Just based off of what I saw in the playoffs. He doesn't attack the basket like he used to.

these lists are dumb.
just like the MSB, the 'experts' are guzzling down Kevin Durant's man milk one day, then on their knees ready to service Lebron the next, then a week later are dropping the soap in the showers for Dirk.

That comes with age. Just like speed receivers become possession receiver with age in the NFL, heavy duty drivers/scorers, become jump shooters as they get older.
Kobe has the mentality of a champion and a killer instinct. His mental ability while playing the game is what still makes him so highly ranked in my book

The fact that the media dismisses that Lebron was the player the Mavs doubled and tripled team all series on top of the fact Spo definitely didn't scheme the Heat offense very well.
The Heat will have to figure out some way to get Wade really involved in the offense without limiting the best player in the league's offensive game. Whoever is the coach of the Heat next year can't have Lebron standing out by the 3pt line the whole series (it definitely looked like a scheme problem the majority of the time than Lebron being passive).
Also Lebron killed it earlier in the playoffs.
Also Randolph in the top 5 and Kobe not top 5 is ridiculous.

I think we may be the same person.
I too wondered about the way the Heat offense was schemed. I was literally yelling at my TV for LeBron to take the ball to the rim in game 6. Yet he refused and kept passing the ball away. The more I saw it, the more I wondered if he was just adhering to the gameplan of his coach.
If I'm Pat Riley, I go down there and coach the team myself. Spo isn't ready to handle 2 (arguably three) super stars on the same team.

Exactly. Which is why he's no longer a top 5 player. And his "killer instinct" didn't impress me in 2011 getting swept.
I would absolutely rate Durant over him, for instance.

yes, because Durant was super clutch against the Mav's.

Come on Flagg. James stood around with his thumb up his arse after game 1.
I dont know the actual definition of choking and quitting in the Finals but its like the definition of Porn:
I know it when I see it. Its impossible imo to have watched that series and come up with a different conclusion.
