I'm as big a melo fan as anyone, but he doesn't have a complete game.

If we were ranking scorers he would definitely be on this list

If you look at where these guys score the bulk of their points from, Kobe and Melo can give it to you from the block, perimeter, and going to the goal. And most importantly they create mismatches and exploit them. Only person who comes close to those two is Dwade. Don't let your personal feelings for these guys cloud your analysis

Lebron is getting criticized because he wasn't a ridiculous jump shooter (which no one should have expected) and the fact he was being expected to do something by the fans and media that both team's gameplans said he wasn't suppose to do

That may have led to some of the criticism, but certainly not all of it. Even the biggest Lebron supporters on here know he didnt play up to his potential. Did the gameplan have something to do with it? I guess it may have we dont know for certain. Nothing you said really explains his sub-par defense on Terry the final two games nor does it explain him getting rid of the ball as quickly as possible at some points in the series.

ETA: MY list
1.James
2.Howard
3.Wade
4.Kobe
5.Dirk or Rose

Really! The only thing he doesn't do is pretend to be a point guard. I have seen Melo create his own shot from different spots on the floor on numerous occasions.

Terry was running off 2-3 screens everytime down the court. You can't expect a guy to just be able to shrug off multiple good screens without solid help from his teammates. Terry was also playing a great game and shooting well regardless of who was on him.

Also the I stated the root of the problem was the shitty offensive scheme by the Heat and the fact the Mavs were double and triple teaming him every possession. Maybe he was quickly swinging the ball to get it to the obviously open players or better matchups.

I obviously admitted he could have played better as his role was to be a jump shooter by all indications and he didn't shoot well at times.

They are talking about Top 5 Players in the NBA, not players with the best stats in the NBA. Therefore, not only is it definitely debatable, but it is pretty justifiable that LeBron is not in the Top 5. Best Stats does not equal best player. And if you think this then you have never played basketball.

ETA:
1) Kobe
2) D Wade
3) Dirk
4) Durant
5) Howard
6) Carmelo
7) The Custodian
8) LeBron

I wouldn't totally rule out stats in this argument. I played a lil basketball, and thats how coaches evaluate their players .

Heart, Killer Instinct, Will, Arrogance, mental toughness, etc. don't show up in the stat book but LeBron's shortcomings in these areas are the reason he is not the player he should be. With his size, athleticism, and talent, he should be the GOAT.

Anyone who has Kobe ahead of Dirk needs to get their head examined. Kobe has a better career, but isn't the better player right now.

Melo isn't even the best player on his own team.

The fact that Carmelo Anthony and Zach Randolph is ranked higher than LeBron James makes this list not valid.

Riiiight. I'm sure you're in touch with most great basketball minds being you played a "lil" basketball.

I'm also sure that most gm's in the league would pick Anthony over James if given the chance. I mean, that's how they evaluate players right?

There isn't one manager in the league or one gm outside of Cleveland that wouldn't take Lebron James over anyone right now. That isn't even debatable.

I'm sure there are plenty of GMs that wouldn't take Lebron as their top choice if they could have any player in basketball.

A few might take Dwight Howard, but who else is in the discussion?
