Jesuit is 1-9 vs Martin in last 10 football meetings. Not good for the "kids" at Jesuit. Jesuit is 6-4 vs HC in last 10 football meetings. That looks a little more like a rivalry.

See 2021 semifinal, when Jesuit shoved “the best BM team ever”

When I went to HC in the late ‘70s/early ‘80s, Jesuit was the historic rivalry. They’ve been playing each other continuously since 1922. Chalmette was also a big rival back then since around 40% of HC’s enrollment was from da Parish. I’d rather see HC losing in the Catholic League than winning elsewhere. It’s tradition.

Respect! Tradition matters. Plus HC is competitive in the big 3 sports so why move down.

Sweet fricking Christ. Y’all know what I mean.

I can tell you HC will shut the doors before they leave the Catholic League. If they have one student enrolled, that dude better be able to play every sport on the planet.

We grow up with a visceral dislike of Jesuit....despite having friends there. We must face the Blue Gheys every year if only to protect the rest of humanity by weakening them for the likes of other programs

You're from Chalmette and yet you do not understand. One day, alas, you will. I pray that it will not be too late for your eternal soul.

This has been going on forever and will go on forever. They greatly inflate their success and importance.

I remember when I was a freshman at LSU many years ago. I became friends with guy who graduated from HC. He kept bragging about the Catholic league and claimed that someone from the league won state every other year. I just checked, the Catholic league won exactly one title in the previous decade from this period. And that was Shaw when Hank was recruiting unfettered.

Well if we’re in it get used to it…

I literally don’t have a reason to watch any other district

What really irks me is that all of the members aren't Catholic schools (Edna Karr, John Curtis).
When was the last time it had at least 7 schools and didn't have a non-Catholic member? The 1970s? 1960s?

The play at your enrollment level crowd doesn't remember that Holy Cross has already played that game. Largely due to necessity after Katrina.

07-09 played 4A
09-11 played 3A
11-13 played 4A
2013 returned to Catholic league

Won plenty football games but beating up on Ben Franklin and McMain isn't all it's cracked up to be.

It won't happen again.

By the next cycle HC will be very close to the 5A number and this will be moot.

you left out 2021 playoff semifinal when Jesuit beat BM soundly. Also, Jesuit has a D1 Select State Title and 1 runner-up (10-14 loss). BM just has one runner-up (0-23 loss).
