I've seen that over and over but it's really not relevant, JMO

Not a big fan of that argument. It's not very relevant.

According to the caddies and playing partner he dropped in the correct spot

I think they were all very generous, but that is the way the lateral hazard rules work. Not a big deal.

I think the tv camera angle is hard to judge. Trust me I hit that type of shot all the time. That ball was hooking when it crossed the hazar. Tiger said it started on right side of fairway.

No question he took another illegal drop.

I agree. he got at least 75 yards more on that drop. Johnny Miller was right on with his suspicions. he ain't kissing Tiger's ring like all the other syncophants.

Well that proves it. The guy who is a raging bitter a-hole said it was illegal. He never has an agenda.

Definitely.

The blimp angle shows it going left early though. Also, a pop up 3 wood with that kind of side spin likely isn't going to carry that far.

Tiger said it started on right side of fairway.
He did, but Rolfing's comments seem to counter that.

Witt said he saw it, told Tiger where to drop and Tiger received the benefit from Witt's perspective. Hard to blame Tiger for that as the rules essentially dictate that is how you are supposed to determine the drop point when it is unclear. However, it looks like Witt's view was pretty generous.

ETA: Because of Witt's involvement and approval, I don't think it can be called an illegal drop. I do think Tiger benefited (though not really because he still doubled) from human error in assessing where it crossed the hazard line.

Stopped listening when the guy said it is impossible to hit a 230 yd rope hook. Dude obviously knows nothing about D plane.

I think he was saying it is impossible to hit a popped up 3 wood that also rope hooks. I don't know that it is impossible, but it is exceedingly rare.

Was he walking with the group? I know the guy walking with the group said he thought they got it right.

Yes.

If you watch the OP, his original comments seem to counter what he later said about the drop.

Again, not a big deal to me because Tiger was told by his playing partner where it supposedly crossed and he was within the rules to drop it there.

A pop up, duck hook is pretty rare. One that pops up, hooks completely from the right side of the fairway to 20 yards into the water on the left 250+ yards from the tee is even more rare. Feasible, but unlikely.

Do you play golf?

It doesn't take a lot for that to happen.
