And if you're willing to go wait outside the stadium until right around kickoff time, sellers start lowering their price to make sure they don't end up with unsold tickets.

Only time this didn't work was in NOLA for the Rams@Saints playoff game. They held firm until the 2nd quarter started. Maybe longer, I didn't stick around after that. Watched the game at a hotel lobby.

They were $600+ about 2 weeks before the game when I checked. I didn't check again closer to the game since I wasn't making the trip.

ETA: But that's probably going to be far and away the most expensive game on either team's regular season schedule this year. Top 10 game, season opener, and 2 high profile programs that are unlikely to play each other again in the regular season for a long time after this home-and-home series.
Be that as it may, I contend that, pre-pandemic, even games like this could be had on the cheap if you just waited. I used to buy tickets while walking up to the event.

6 years ago I spent $190 for a corner endzone ticket in lower level at a Saints game in the dome. I don’t know what that would cost today? Easily $500?

I find a shuttle. And skip the concessions. That's a lot of savings right there.

I picked up 4 tickets on the 35, OU side, for $105 each, fees included for the LSU game. Stole 'em! That place is going to be nutz!

My buddy actually texted me today wanting to go up to Cincinnati in November when the Bears come to town. He's a Bears fan, I'm a Bengals fan.

I pulled up tickets on SeatGeek....fricking corner nosebleeds are $218+ I just laughed. frick all that. I've sat up there before to us play the Packers Dolphins and Jets and I think I paid like $60 apx 10 yrs ago. Not a chance in frick I'd shell out 2 bills for that.

US Open quarters is $500 for good not the best seats. And Sabalenka didn’t even get to play because her opponent scratched.

I guess it’s just part of the gamble. Those people aren’t getting

We’ve talked about inflation the past few years, did we just think sports tickets wouldn’t inflate?

Years ago.............took my son and friends to a Rangers/Yankees game in Arlington.

Bought the worst tickets in the house for 10 bucks a piece.

Rangers made the world series (I know its the WS) and that exact same ticket that was 10 bucks...........was now over 1500.

I went to the South Carolina-VT game this past Sunday. Bought lower level seats on the Carolina side between the 10 yard line and end zone for $75 last Thursday. A month ago, those seats were going for $160 on seat geek. I just play the waiting game and check the prices when it gets closer to the game.

How do normal people afford to go to these games? Was looking at some NFL games and a few college football games to possibly go to this year. For nose bleed tickets to an NFL game it’s like $500 a ticket. About the same for an SEC or B1G football game. 4 tickets, plus parking, concessions travel, fees, etc. you can easily drop $5k Are all these people at these games really walking around with that kind of cash to blow on a football game?

There’s a reason I mainly go to MLB games. I’d much rather sit on my couch and watch football than go to the games because it’s so expressive.

Bills-Saints nose-bleed tickets are 315 each if you want more than a single right now. Debating whether to hold out and see if they come down or bite the bullet.

I’m going to the Bills-Bengals game. Wife is a huge bills fan and she wants to go to the stadium the last year and back for the 1st year of the new stadium.
