I posted in August that OU would be the most surprising team and got made fun of. They had the easiest schedule in memory, a 5th year QB, 2nd year coach and players know the system. Also, a top 5 recruiting class and transfer class to add to it.

They are 5-0 and their lowest point spread has been 15. They also are favorites in every game by at least a TD the rest of the way except Texas.

I'm not saying they are the best team, but they have the best chance to make the playoffs according to ESPN playoff predictor and the 7th best odds per Vegas to win it all.

They don't have to win Saturday, although I think they beat Texas by 10, they can coast the rest of the way and win the rematch in December.

I'd be very surprised if they don't win at least 11. What do you think?

Seems like they actually have a defense for the first time in forever

Their Defense is actually starting to look like a Venables defense.

Texas rolls easily IMO. Oklahoma has played a much easier schedule compared to Texas so far.

OU hasn't been tested really. Winning games by a nice margin except for Cincinnati but that game was never in doubt.

Texas best win is obviously at Bama but that Bama offense was a mess at the time. Texas has a very good Dline. Should be a good game.

I got Texas by 9. Means OU will win by 20.

It’s red River. Expect the unexpected

Charlie Strong had a bad team and beat a playoff OU team in his last year

I expect OU to win. I think Texas got Bama at the perfect time. Frankly shocked to see Texas ranked 3rd. Sark has made them better, but I don't see them as a Top 5 team.

Would Texas and OU meet in a conference championship game?

ETA - looked it up, the two teams with the best winning percentage go to the CCG, so yes they could play each other twice this year.

OU lucky they have Venables coming into SEC because Riley would have been a disaster in the SEC not playing defense

It's not Venables fault Riley took his best players with him to USC which was a big reason for last year's stumble
