I get why some people don’t like him but I’ll go with, he is deserving.

ARod and Clemens were said to have also used anabolic steroids, which were against the rules the entire time.
I think the fact that Clemens won't admit to anything, and most believe he did use - including me.....he's never getting in.
I doubt he'll do a Pete Rose and lie for 30 years and then crawfish. Pete was not too proud to beg, I think Roger is.

His performance in the 2004 NLCS games 6 and 7 ate the two best games ive seen by any player in person. Cards won both but Beltran was so good
It's crazy how overshadowed that NLCS was/is compared to the 2004 ALCS, but both were equally amazing. Astros-Red Sox would've been a better WS imo and not a sweep.

Ridiculous. Cheapened the MLB HoF "qualifications" even more.

Beltran was a fringe HOF but obviously the main guy who led the Astros trash cans and d taught them to follow many of the things the Yankees had been doing.
bullshite. The guy was a 9-time All Star with 400 HR, 1,500 RBI, 2,500 hits, 300 SB's and 3 Gold Gloves before rejoining the Astros in 2017.

Beltran and Jones getting in while Bonds and Clemens are still being kept out is a freaking joke. Bonds and Clemens were better players by a wide wide margin with or without PEDs.

100% correct.

I’m on the fence. I don’t care about the Astros cheating scandal. He has good stats. But I never watched Carlos Beltran and thought he was one of the best players in baseball.

Can they just make a wing of the hall of fame for players that are hall of famers on the field but their situation keeps them out.
Bonds, Rose, Clemens, A-Rod, McGwire, Sosa, Shoeless Joe

I mean if you are going to crucify the Astros for the cheating scandal you have to crucify him.
As a native Houstonian, I agree with this.

You Bonds/Clemens guys are insufferable. I might agree that Bonds and Clemens should be in but that doesn’t mean y’all should be shitting on everyone else that does get in. It’s the same tired bitching every year with you people.

Honestly the Hall of Fame needs to override the writers… let the writers vote on second tier guys but don’t even have a vote for guys who should have got >90%…

I’ve never been a fan of Beltran or hated him, I am rather ambivalent toward him, but the dude is one of only five players in the 157-year history of the major leagues to finish with at least 500 doubles, 400 home runs and 300 stolen bases, and one of only four to finish with 2,700 hits, 400 homers, 1,500 runs scored and 300 steals. That’s pretty exclusive company and to say he has no case at all is a stretch.

The baseball HOF and the baseball writers have become a joke. Bunch of self righteous, self important pricks.
The whole thing is a sham.
The whole thing is a sham.

my thoughts are Clemens did for at least a while.
And my thoughts are that PEDs were so wide spread during that era that more were using than not. And MLB knew it but ignored it because the sport was as popular as ever.
But now after the fact they penalize players who were CLEARLY HOF worthy even before they did PEDs.
