This Jayden Daniels thing has got to be one of the most obvious PR fumbles of all time

Anybody with just basic common sense could’ve seen the negative PR coming from this. I mean, what the hell was he thinking? There is no scenario where this could have turned out well for him, even if he got what he wanted

Yep, someone posted a clip of a commanders preseason game laughing at Jayden for throwing a bad pic, it went about 5 posts of people shitting on him before someone even pointed out it was Sam Hartman throwing the INT. He’s ruined his rep with LSU and won’t win any of it back

Yep, they think blaming the mom give him a layer of cover when it really adds another strike against JD5. Who shoves their mother in front of them to take arrows? He's actually managed to make Brandon Aiyuk look right, something I never thought I’d see.

I don't believe that. As stupid and petty as this all is, time heals all wounds. Billy Cannon became a convicted felon and managed to rehab his image with LSU.
It has been fascinating to see the near universal ridicule of Jayden, though. The dude became a meme within 24 hours, and even people who hate LSU are calling out the idiocy. I can't help but think this situation gets smoothed out sooner than later.

I agree with both of your points.
I’ve been surprised how the split among neutrals on this topic has been 99/1 though. It’s not nearly as serious as the Sorsby situation earlier this year, but it’s almost that lopsided.
I have friends who are Bama grads sending me memes mocking Daniels. I have friends who don’t watch college and are NFL-only guys sending me memes mocking him. And on social media, the memes are getting so many likes and very few comments (almost none of which are negative).
