I was quite happy to take Washington plus a bunch of points. Always great to get the better team AND points.

So you agree that Alabama should have been ranked over Oregon?

I wonder if they really did or some memo went out.

I felt Washington was always the better team.

The narrative has been that Oregon lost the first game but they really should have won the first game.

I don’t tend to fall in that trap.

If Georgia loses today they should be out unless chaos happens.

The eye test is just an excuse to be biased.

Washington is undefeated. How many undefeated titles does Bama have under Saban? 1?

How many would they have in the PAC 12?

This game has always been about points. I don't care about resumes and eye tests. Give me the points.

That’s why Bama getting in the BCS final in 2011 was so wrong. All things weren’t equal and yet they used a horrible metric to put them in. The win versus LSU in that title game doesn’t vindicate the choice because any team can win a single game in the top 10.

I could write a book about it in response but here’s what it really comes down to:

Alabama’s “punishment” for losing the game of the century on its home field was to essentially be gifted a bye into the National Championship game. They only had to go 1-1 vs LSU.

LSU’s “reward” for winning the game of the century was that they had to beat a ranked UGA team, and then beat Alabama again. LSU had to go 3-0 (2-0 vs Bama and 1-0 vs UGa)

Essentially, LSU was penalized for winning.

No one in their right might can rationally or ethically assert that is a fair and just form of competition.

Really if FSU wins that’s the case for most deserving

But in the same way resumes can be highly inflated.

Mizzou and PSU are ranked 9-10, but neither have really beaten anyone but only played 2 good teams

Tenn has beaten no one and is in the top 25

So you have to really make sure when you look at resumes you are taking a deep look.

we should just use the 247/on3/rivals composite to determine the playoffs. the regular season is just for kicks.
