No they didn’t. They won a spot in the title game. There is no such thing as a regular season champ. There was a four-way tie for first.

Bama simply had the best case for the CG tiebreakers.

And rightfully so. Notre Dame did nothing this year to earn a bid. Their only argument is that they lost close.

The issue is the SEC tiebreakers letting a 2-loss team go to Atlanta when there were two 1-losses.
