The owners in a league that plasters END RACISM and IT TAKES ALL OF US everywhere every season ?
The nba only did that shite in the bubble.

Make the 3 point shot only worth 1 point and dunks 3 points. That would change the game for the better

1- Kobe is gone.
2- Too many 3’s
3- 2020 politics
4-the players are terrible role models. Not that they were great in 90’s. Today we get the likes of LaMelo Ball and Ja Morant…. Do the math.
5- the superstars of today are all foreign. That does not resonate with me.
6- players do not care to compete. Just want that check. Kobe and Michael and others were ruthless in victory. That killer instinct is gone.
Last thing I will say is that they lost me and I have no desire to tune in ever again. The NBA is dying a slow death.

NBA is terrible because the regular season is a long slough of meaningless stat padding.
Star players miss several games for "game management ", no one cares to play defense, basically just a 3 point shooting exhibition.
It's just a terrible product .

Are these "stars" really worth that much?
In terms of basketball? Yes
In terms of salary? The top guys are way underpaid.

NBA ratings are, to be kind, stagnant.
Did you just see the new deals the NBA inked this offseason?

Why are owners paying max value for players who don't bring any extra eyeballs to the brand, if not outright alienating fans?
For one, they're contractually obligated to do so.

Every game is 3 point contest or dunk. It’s boring. No real play just street ball.
It's the opposite of street ball

Thank you for making my point. The league is structurally flawed by forcing themselves into a compensation framework that doesn't reflect economic reality.

How?
It's a % of league revenue.

If the economic reality changes, their salaries change. Right now, the economic reality is record revenue, so you see record salaries in exact proportion (well, they did smooth the cap this time so eventually in direct proportion).

It all started when the players forced their way into "big 3s" for me. Then everything became a 3 point attempt

Pretty sure he walked into it and had no idea what the situation is, both in terms of how max contracts are calculated to the fact that revenues are now record highs.
He'll either not come back or come back and pivot to talking about that next contract
Also, to the people who think the NBA gives big markets advantages they big mad

New York Knicks owner James Dolan leveled continued criticism of the NBA's revenue sharing policies, outlining a denunciation of a possible 8% league office cut of the new $74.6 billion media deal and a national television and streaming package that renders the league's regional sports networks as "unviable," according to a letter shared with the NBA's board of governors and obtained by ESPN on Monday.
Dolan has been a consistent critic of the league's revenue sharing policies that distribute money from local media rights and sponsorship deals in high-earning big markets to smaller-market teams. In a November letter to the board of governors, Dolan resigned his positions on the league's influential advisory/finance and media committees, ESPN reported. He previously launched an unorthodox lawsuit against the Toronto Raptors that questioned the objectivity of commissioner Adam Silver.
quote:
"The NBA has made the move to an NFL model -- deemphasizing and depowering the local market," Dolan wrote in the letter. "Soon, your only revenue concern will be the sale of tickets and what color next year's jersey will be. Don't worry, because due to revenue pooling, you are guaranteed to be neither a success nor a failure.
"Of course, to get there, the league must take down the successful franchises and redistribute to the less successful. This new media deal goes a long way to accomplishing that goal."

James Dolan calling the Knicks a successful franchise is....something.

If you are overpaying labor (especially if you are contractually bound to overpay labor) it is irrelevant what your revenues are. You have a systemically flawed system.
Why would I pay a PG or PF max compensation if he doesn't bring any extra eyeballs or value to the product?
Be honest, how many players in today's NBA bring the average sports fan to the TV set? Not the pro hoops die hard. The casual average sports fan.

The push on player over team has led to players who are not good teammates.
Who could have guessed that?!?!
Playoffs are so long and so many teams get in it diluting regular season.
Make the playoffs tbe division winners and a 1 game play in between two best non-division winners
And call traveling

everthing you said literally dosnt matter. you are no longer making points tied to the economic reality of the situation. you understand that right?

Too many 3s. The Warriors and Rockets started it and now the entire league does it.
Adam Silver has already said rule changes are coming.
