Well I can agree with that, but it isn't like those kids wouldn't be accepted by top 10 programs if they wanted to switch on signing day.

Good coaches can transform the "best kids" to play well in a variety of schemes. That's not happening right now and Manny is the only one of the defensive coaches who does not have a long history of doing this. He happens to be the LB coach which is the group with the most problems as well as the guy calling the plays. I'd be amazed if he returns next year. But Mack is also a root cause of the problem.

Yes. Five stars flop all the time. Just like high draft picks do. It's the nature of the beast. Some have all the talent in the world but just don't make it for one reason or another.
Still doesn't matter because those stars are a good indicator of success most of the time.

I actually came to start a "Why is TX defense so bad" thread. They've given up 100 points the last two games and this one isn't even in the fourth. It's quite astounding actually
