And outplayed The GOAT (well...soon to be the GOAT) in that game.

All the big name conference QBs. Guys from the SEC, Big 10, Notre Dame, and the Pittsburg Steelers with a dude from LA Tech and a dude from Miama-Ohio saying:

"Hold our beers. We don't need any of that big conference stuff to win our rings."

In that case, I’d say LSU couldn’t count both Humphries and Burrow, if/when he gets there.

First off...you're dead wrong.

Second, there are only 29 qbs that have won a Super Bowl. The SEC having 5 isn't particularly bad or good

FFS it’s a joke.
A couple of other older LSU posters mentioned Humphries too. When he got to the pros and eventually the SB with the Chargers it was the nadir of LSU football in the 90s and was another example of someone from La that turned out the be good but didn’t play for LSU, more annoying because he did sign with and initially attend LSU.
There were also some legendary rumors (could be BS) but that Bill Arnsparger would escort him to class and as soon as Arnsparger left supposedly Humphries would bail. It’s something old school LSU fans would get, it was not meant as a serious bragging point, jeez why are you guys so uptight.

And btw your premise is stupid, no one said it could only be one school or where you played last you to the pros or first only. Russell Wilson did start for both NC St and Wisconsin, so NCSU could claim him as well as Wisconsin

That’s a piss poor run for the best conference in college football.

The SEC hasn't always been the best conference in college football.

Hell, in the 1980s, teams without a conference won 60% of the national championships.
