There is a definite cutoff age on what you think of the Rose Bowl.

New Years afternoon and watching a slow fat midwestern team get hammered by SoCal. That was tradition.

I am a traditionalist, but I think this is a good move. With teams changing conferences a PAC 12 vs Big 10 game isn't as traditional as it used to be. I really don't like that Jan 1st isn't the big bowl day that it used to be, but I think with the expanded playoffs there is more plusses than minuses here.

I have been to all the major bowls and the Rose Bowl is the best hands down.

Most overrated bowl game ever

Have you ever been and watched a game there in the late afternoon?

Best setting for a game that I have ever experienced.

It’s because they’re JV conferences compared to the SEC now

All Hail, His Majesty,ESPN and his dollars.

Because we absolutely, positively , without question, had to have a " true " national champion.....It kept me up at night. I really felt for programs like Alabama, LSU, Georgia, Florida, Texas, Oklahoma and FSU as well as Nebraska....and all the non attention they got because of the Rose Bowl Game in the past.

Oh, the humanity!!!

The viewership of the Rose Bowl destroys all non-playoff bowl games. This boards view of the Rose Bowl is totally delusional in comparison to how the country as a whole views the game.

It's weird that people hate the best bowl game so much. No setting like it in sports.

This is predominantly an SEC board. SEC fans are just jealous of the popularity of a game they’re not part of.

I grew up in the 90s and the Rose was a pain in the arse because it kept #1 and #2 from playing in a bowl quite a few times.

I used to go to my great uncle's on New Year's Day and the rule always was you could not leave until after the Rose Bowl....most stuck around until halftime of the Orange Bowl. Remember when halftime of the Orange Bowl was an extravaganza?

Yes and yes, totally agree.

A bunch of ignorant people will disagree though.
