So players can blatantly target as long as it’s at the end of close games because “nobody wants it to end on a dumb penalty”. Got it.

It wasn't blatant

I’d agree, if this was 1983.

It was blatant. It wasn’t the most aggressive, but it met every single stipulation for targeting. It was textbook targeting. It was most certainly a blatant act of targeting.

lol. Helmet to helmet on a defenseless receiver that resulted in a concussion. Equally as bad as the no call when Mingo KO’d Harrison a few years ago

The NCAA cares about player safety, until a Tier 1 media darling needs a game rigged. Then frick your concussed player.

That was textbook targeting. The worst part for me wasn't that it wasn't called. It was that it wasn't called AFTER reviewing the play. Not sure how you come away from that not wondering whether these games are rigged

Regardless of if that play was or wasn’t, it’s not a stupid rule and you most definitely can call it when it’s warranted regardless of the situation during the game.

ASU played without a DB for the first half who CLEARLY made a difference the whole first half. If you’re not going to call THAT targeting, eliminate the rule. It’s a waste of time. That was targeting 150 times out of 10

Why is this being downvoted so heavily?

Refs did not, but the replay official sure did.

Bless your heart. Hopefully you gain some understanding of the rules soon.

It’s even worse because ASUs best defensive player wasn’t allowed to play in the first half of the game because of a “targeting” on essentially the same play in their conf championship game

Because he's a moron.

Because the leadership has determined that calls should be enforced only when it benefits the bottom line.

In this case handing Texas the chance to win it in regulation, otherwise Skattebo would have bulldozed forward and run the clock out, Arizona State hopefully makes the field goal and the cinderella moves on to the next round. It was a disgusting, blatant attempt to subvert the integrity of the game in the name of making sure their guy got in

ASU is on their 3rd kicker this season. Better chance he misses the potential kick. And if the refs were looking out for Texas, then why did they call pass interference and defensive holding (both in the end zone) on ASU's game-tying TD drive? All ASU had to do was stop Texas on 4th and 15.

If Carrot Top doesn’t miss so many kicks for Texas, they might not have needed the non-call. You can rationalize all you want, it was targeting.
