Kinda sad honestly. Was one of the coolest icons in sports.
Just hope they don’t do something stupid like the the Washington Bullets changing to the Washington Wizards. That name has never caught on and the team has sucked.

Redwolves would be a good name. It’s not another bird or cat name.

Why does everyone want Red Wolves?
What does the Native Southeastern wolf have to do with Maryland or D.C.?
Plus it sounds like an Arena Football name.
You can't go from the Redskins to a stupid animal name.
It'd be like the Raiders changing their name to the Las Vegas Rattlesnakes.

While I don't think it's a great name, DC is very much within the red wolf's historical range.
