The oven mitt and helmets that curve all the way down the face are the lamest

Things I’ve ever seen. These are what kids wore who had medical conditions or were straight up scared to take the plate when I was younger. Does everyone wear these all the time now? I have not really watched pro baseball since the Cubs won the World Series.

I’ve heard it helps the hitter block out everything and lock in. I never tried one but makes sense to me

After multiple major leaguers got hit in the face a lot of players decided to add them. Why are you upset about players protecting themselves?

I wouldn’t say I’m upset I just see it and just think it’s lame. I understand why they wear it. Pro guys just didn’t wear those when I grew up watching baseball so it turns me off I suppose.

I can tell you after wearing a helmet, if you step into the box without a helmet on you feel pretty exposed. So I’m surprised everyone doesn’t wear them and they aren’t designed more as a one piece.

I remember when Barry Bonds would wear that Robocop gear and thinking, no wonder he crowds the plate, this guy doesn't have a care in the world.
Some of this shite needs to be illegal, there should be some element of fear of getting beaned.
