Keeps the left arm attached to the body. Swing is one piece back and through.

That's the best way I can describe it.

Lol. I guess. There's two swing planes, btw. And I'm not sure how that would help eliminate a big miss.

You might have just convinced me to change my swing. I just got out of bed and air swung a couple of those, and I know exactly what you're talking about

I've been working with a new instructor that's helping me with it. It feels awkward as hell because I've had the same swing for 15 years. I was just tired of being inconsistent.

I ended up with Matsuyama, Koepka, Stenson, Walker, Cabrera Bello, and Fleetwood. They gonna make me a millionaire.

Yeah. Power seems to be an issue. But true power comes from swing speed, and I think I could adjust. I'm itching to get on the range right now.

The main purpose of the backswing is to allow you to hinge the club. How you get there doesn't really matter. Sounds like this swing coach is a fraud.

What does this even mean? How does one have a "compact" swing plane?
Watch Lingmerth swing. Then watch Daly.

Obviously you hinge the club. He teaches the Butch Harmon swing.

My point is you basically want your arms to stay in one piece throughout the swing. With the hinge obviously

I think I could birdie the 1st hole today. Pat made an absolute mess of that.

Sorry. Not trying to be a dick, but keeping your left arm "attached" to the body is terrible advice that is an easy fix for bad swing fundamentals that only leads to worse positions.

If you don't birdie #1 today, just quit

This may be true for you. But positional awareness is like the 6th sense that some people aren't nearly as good at. The more the club is moving on the back swing, the tougher they have getting back to the ball.

Length of backswing=\= swing plane.

I think the leaderboard is linked on the first page, but Lingmerth is leading at -6.

Sounds good to me

I'm probably not the best person to explain what I've been taught. I just love the game of golf and want to improve.

I know, but if I had to describe Lingmerth's swing it's still the word I would probably use. It very well could be an illusion, but it appears he has a short, quick swing.
