OK so what did rory shoot???

Is he at like -14 or something????
-11
He had it to -13 after 17, but hit his 2nd in the water on 18 and made double. He set 2 records: best 36 hole score in US Open history, and he became the only player to ever reach -13 at any point in US Open history.

Thanks for the update. I hope he shatters the record. And like finishes at -17 or so.

i take it the course got a lot harder this evening?
Posted on 6/17/11 at 3:27 pm to lsugolf1105
what will rory be ranked if he wins this? i think he will be #1 by the end of the summer...
Posted on 6/17/11 at 3:28 pm to lsugolf1105
that storm that moved through is gonna help the guys on the course now
i dont think yang being 6 back is a threat to mcilroy because noone else is moving up... its gonna be a 2 man race with mcilroy having a nice cushion

I don't think so because of the screwy world rankings.

I'm hoping the Yanger can close hard this afternoon and get -7 or -8. I love Rory but still want to see a contest out there on the weekend.
That double on 18 was huge. if he pars that and is at -13 I think it would have been almost insurmountable. If Yang is within 4 or 5 after today we have a contest. Yang was 5 or 6 back on Saturday when he won the PGA.

Too bad for McIlroy the pin the placements for the next two days will eat him alive.

I can't disagree with that. He didn't necessarily let the entire field back in the tournament with that double bogey, but he did leave the door open for anybody that can shoot back to back great rounds.

still 35 straight holes at the US Open without a bogey was damn impressive.
Yanger can't save par after a deft pitch from under the trees. back to -4.

Do they have pin placements for the weekend already set in stone or will Rory tearing up the course maybe make them consider making them harder? I bet they might be kinda embarrassed by all these red numbers right now.

They said they like it the way it is. It is rewarding great golf, and punishing mediocre golf. He is just playing that good right now.

It's not like the field is tearing up this golf course at the moment. I think they will be putting the pins in some tough spots tomorrow and see what happens.

That is tv talk, you know they are not enjoying this assualt on par. But it is nice to see some birdies being made at the Open for a change.

Maybe not "tearing it up" but there appears to be more guys under than usual. Though that may just be my imagination--this may be typical for Thursday/Friday and by the weekend, everybody--save the winner and runner-up usally--wind up in the black.

Hey man!
Is the coverage I just tuned into on ESPN live or not?
20 questions, FTW.

I think all these under par scores are more or less associated with the soft conditions. That which the USGA cannot control... Because we all know if they could control the weather they would sure as hell try

I think RORY has a rough weekend. Not saying he will lose, But he can in NO way kep this up.
