Sacramento St makes the most sense from a geographic and enrollment sense. Plus they're openly saying they want to join, and are looking at renovations to their stadium and arena to do so.

At this point, I'm rooting for Texas St. to go to the PAC so we can get the MSB shenanigans of La Tech/Sun Belt expansion talk.

Heck yea. They could crank the football program back up.

I watched my Hogs whip up on them at War Memorial back in 1988.

The entire west coast football scene is so bad that the premier programs are willing to travel their entire athletic programs across the country to play meaningful ball.

Any team in the AAC/SBC that entertains the MWC/PAC is dumb as hell.

They could go get San Jose St and New Mexico St but that sure as hell won’t be a power conference.

Guess the classification doesn’t mean much in football anymore anyway as the top 5 conference champs regardless of affiliation get an auto-bid. Better to be in a conference than none like WSU and OSU now. Their only path to the playoffs now is an at-large bid. A disadvantage for ND moving forward to as they’re not eligible for a playoff bye.

NDSU and Montana St moving to fbs would be tight. I have family there and besides the in state LA schools root for Montana St in FCS

ETA they wouldn’t be able to transition as soon as next year anyway. what are the requirements for those schools to move to fbs that they don’t meet?

I'm not sure why the Pac 12 is spurning Wyoming. I know they don't bring a huge market, but neither does a lot of the teams they took...especially Utah State.

They actually have a pretty known brand (their ugly arse brown and yellow), and have historically had some good teams in both football and basketball.

They are a hell of a lot better than NM State or San Jose State. The Pac 12 is already a presence in the Cali market, so SJSU bring nothing as the have little to no fan support.

They should go grab Hawaii. They make too much sense and then Sacramento State to give them 9 football schools. I’m not sure how many of the new PAC-7 schools play baseball, but I don’t think Boise St, CSU, or Utah St. does.

Didn't Tech already try this in the WAC? Was it beneficial for them?

Why don’t they just merge with the mountain west?
