Yeah this is an easy decision. And if we can shite on WW all we want for a recruit who grew up 10 miles from BR but seriously go look at that 2019 Memphis class. It’s like they didn’t even try to hide cheating.

Just to clarify Woj really just said 2008 was a typo. It’s 2018.

That makes a lot more sense.

Calipari and K also need to get buried. It's the arbitrary and uneven treatment that makes people hate the NCAA.

and literally everyone knew what was happening from the second penny was hired. I'm surprised they even made it this long without this shite coming up

Penny did it as an AAU coach, not as the Memphis coach.

If Lavar Ball paid for a kid to move and they later went to UCLA, do they penalize the kid because Lavar had two sons play at UCLA and may be considered a booster?

They are doing this to Penny because he’s black. Calipari, K, Izzo, Saban are all guilty of the same thing. Can’t wait for the protests

I mean, UMass went on probation for agents giving Marcus Camby all kinds of illegal benefits. Technically, they’re not “boosters” of the program.

Penny is a Memphis alum and has probably donated money to the school.

Sure the NCAA is hypocritically selective about who they go after, but this seems like a textbook case of ineligibility for Wiseman.

Penny has acted crazy and thumbed his nose at many of the guys who have been in the business for 30+ years. This isn’t a shocking outcome.

He got way too brash. It might not be right and wouldn’t happen if this was Roy Williams or Self, but this is a very predictable outcome.

Penny donated 7 figures to Memphis a decade or so ago. Clearly a booster.

For context here: James Wiseman moved from Nashville (Tenn.) Ensworth to Memphis (Tenn.) East, where Penny coached, just before his junior season. Same spring/summer he began playing for Penny Hardaway's AAU program.

The potential #1 pick in the NFL draft was suspended for accepting a loan - that he paid back in full - from a family friend.

The potential #1 pick in the NBA draft was ruled ineligible because his coach helped his family move while in HS.

Another banner day for the NCAA.
