USC Football

Back in the 70's it was always a great late November Saturday when ABC would show UM-OSU and then follow that with USC-UCLA in the coliseum both wore their home jerseys. Plus both games 95% of the time was for a berth in the Rose Bowl..........

MLB: Yankees are easily most iconic in US Sports
NFL: Cowboys. Several other NFL teams are also iconic, but if I could just pick one, it would be the Cowboys.
NBA: Tough call between Lakers and Celtics, but I would go w/ the Lakers by a hair. No argument w/ anyone who says Celtics though.
NHL: I don't really follow that closely, but I would guess Blackhawks or Redwings
NCAA FB: I think this is the most wide open. I'd probably say Notre Dame, but Michigan, Penn State, USC, Texas and even Bama are also up there
NCAA BB: UNC by a mile

And a few other iconic looks
Futbol: Brazil or Argentina.
Pro Wresting: Hulk Hogan's yellow. C'mon, you know it is instantly recognizable
Tennis: Anyone at Wimbledon in the all white

Penn State's plain white helmet and Nebraska's plain red "N" are both hideous

Those are some of the best uniforms and helmets in football.

Mlb: of course Yankees. Cubs are up there in second with Red Sox. I also think the Dodgers home script is

Nfl: Cowboys/raiders/steelers/bears/packers

Nba: lakers and celtics.

i would argue the Knicks if I was a Knicks fan.

Nhl: original 6

College football: all of the iconic ones have been mentioned. Although i think Florida State could be added. As a kid I always thought the spear was badass. They dominated the 90s. they are iconic of 90s cfb for sure.

I would also add the Miami helmet. While no where near as historic as ND, Michigan, and such, all sports fans know The U.
As a Homer pick, I would say the say the Saints are near the top of the NFL. Despite sucking most of our history, every NFL fan knows the fluer de lis. Not saying it tops the Packers, Cowboys, or Raiders.

Sorry Man U. Any organization that whores their identity and uniform out to advertising isn't an iconic uniform.

Kind of a hard dilineation between the team as a brand, the logo, and the actual uniform.

In pro baseball, Pinstripes and Dodger Blues (especially for the LA logo. Ridiculous how many hats you see over seas). I add the White Sox, Red Sox and Cubs for hats.
NBA, Lakers. Celtics a far second.
In college football, Notre Dame and Michigan. I also might say that the fact that Oregon is having an ever-hanging uniform is in its way becoming iconic.
In college basketball, UCLA and Michigan.
In pros, the Bears just for the logo. The Cowboys overall. Honorables to the Steelers, Packers and Raiders.
In soccer, Brazil on a national team stage.

also, it depends on the moment in time. you could say that this is the most iconic uniform of all time, yet it doesn't really exist anymore.

hmm, interesting… you think so? i don't think there's anything to them outside of being a NY fan living in NYC. the blue and orange don't make that compelling a fashion choice. i don't see many people co-opting the look just because it looks cool. i think that's part of the icon part of it.
