Bad attempt but it does point out my issue with certain soccer jerseys.

The sponsor is an integral part of the jersey, and while certain parts of the jersey will never change, the fact that the sponsor can and will makes me not want to put those jerseys as high up on the list as others.

IMO it is too big of an "element" to ignore. Oddly enough, sometimes the sponsor is what helps make it iconic (see Nascar). What if Dale had changed from Goodwrench and no longer had a black car? If "3" was a sports team, its jerseys would have gone to shite once the sponsor changed.

The Bears have had the same uniform scheme since the 1950s, worn by the likes of Butkus, Sayers, and Payton, so ya I'd say they're iconic. Don't fall for the fallacy of thinking that just because they currently suck their uniforms aren't classic. And in full disclosure, I'm a Packers fan saying this

That makes me laugh..... You saying this to me........... They are somewhat classic... But just a tad to bland for me... Now if you put some mud on them like when real football was played....then yes...........

He probably mentioned them because they remind him of Bama's white helmet days.

Being bland or not is a different discussion. A lot of iconic uniforms are fairly bland because uniform schemes were not elaborate or complex in the old days. There is not anything special in the inherent pattern of say the Boston Celtics uniforms, but they are iconic because They are fairly unchanged from what Russell, Havlicek, Bird, Mchale, Parrish, etc wore. I'm surprised you of all people chose to contest that suggestion

Now discuss. Iconic means recognizable, now what bandwagon fans know.

In Chicago, the Bears and Cubs jerseys are more iconic than the Bulls jersey. A "23" jersey is iconic but the Bulls jersey as a whole is not iconic. The Bears and Cubs have barely changed in 100 years and they're never changing. The Bulls were irrelevant in sports culture before Jordan.

The Canadiens red jersey is the most iconic jersey in hockey and the average person wouldn't know it.

Penn State's plain white helmet and Nebraska's plain red "N" are both hideous but they are of two of the most iconic helmets in college football this side of Michigan, Notre Dame and Alabama.

Yeah, I saw that big six or original six thing, and immediately thought three too many (even though all started the league, iconic worthy are the Canadians, the Red Wings and the Maple Leafs).

Also, RE NFL, you can add the Colts.
