Call me a loon, but that actually sounds like a great place to live and enjoy the natural, solemn beauties of the earth?

Gonzaga is in the NW and pulls all kinds of talent. Just have to broaden your recruiting base. Not to mention, there are tons of white kids that can play Division 1 basketball. They just might take more time to develop..

Spokane is like 7 times larger than Pullman. They probably don't have to go to Idaho for fun.

List makes no sense. Most difficult P5 basketball jobs are at Kentucky, Duke, and UNC.
I didn't include Kansas just because they have little competition in their conference in basketball and win it most every year.
Head basketball coach in the OP's post are only difficult because it's tough to win consistently with little to no pressure.

Gonzaga’s success has the last 20 years has built their reputation.
As well as them being a small school with no football team helps them recruit.
They are like a big east school of the west coast

I had a friend who attended Wazzu.
He said they'd drive to Moscow, Idaho to have fun because it was a "big city with bars."
Moscow has 25,000 people.

Oregon State was a great program under Ralph Miller. It shouldn’t be on this list. Corvallis is not too far from Portland, a decent recruiting base.

Your friend must be more rural, country type. Pullman and Moscow are similar size and only 8 miles apart. The urban, preppy crowd parties in Pullman, the more country crowd flocks to Moscow.

Well, he was from Bend, Oregon.
Posted on 3/26/19 at 8:15 pm to mizzoubuckeyeiowa
Bend is really nice and booming.
Posted on 3/26/19 at 8:17 pm to mizzoubuckeyeiowa
That doesn’t tell me much since Bend went from mill town to boomtown over the last 25 years. Bend pre-2005 parties in Moscow, post 2005 in Pullman. They turned the mill into an upscale yuppie Shopping center! Bend is a popular destination for people retiring or fleeing California. I don’t blame them, the place is epically beautiful.

This was 1996...when he went to College at Wazzu.
So he grew up in Bend in the 80's and 90's.

Considering the Arms Race in the ACC, I think Wake, Pitt, BC, GT and Clemson are digging a hole that will be hard to get out of.
I don't ever remember Ole Miss having any momentum in basketball in my lifetime. The one time I remember them being good, they got Valpo'd.

Does location really matter that much?
I guess when you suck it does.
It’s not like Lawrence Kansas is a thriving metropolis.
Regarding Rutgers who’s on that list.
I live in their “market” no one gives a frick about Rutgers sports.
Even their own alums couldn’t care less. They care more about pro sports
