The most difficult P5 basketball jobs, according to Will Cain

List takes into account program history, location, basketball support, and "are you a football school"
1. Nebraska
2. Washington State
3. Penn State
4. Rutgers
5. Oregon State
I think he also mentioned Northwestern simply because they have only gone to 1 tourney ever.

I don’t think rut or psu belong in the list

These stupid, half baked sports “debates” are incredibly stale at this point and make up the backbone of Will Caine’s “show”.

Yeah, I think big football schools are good jobs because you have a lot of resources, but low pressure for hoops. Wazzu, OK, I can see that.

2 much talent in nj/ny area
if either committed to it, they could compete
psu is a football, hockey, wrasslin school, boosters made huge commitments, esp for hockey. they are a wrasslin power

Well he got no.1 right. Nebraska is the worst P5 basketball program there is.

I still think Washington State and Oregon State are harder jobs

I'm so glad he's going of the air in Baton Rouge. That guy sucks shite through a straw.

I know we are 2 years removed from a Final Four.
But we have to be in the top 10

Prior to our final four run (and in that same tourney)
I believe the 2 of the longest streaks for a team winning an NCAA tournament game (among p5 schools) were broken when we and Northwestern finally got a W.
For us, we hadn't won in the 64-68 team Era.
Not sure where NW was on that but I think the other team in that was Nebraska.

Wazzu and Oregon State aren’t great jobs by any means but the PAC 12 sucks right now. Traditional powers like Arizona and UCLA are in the toilet.
The Big Ten? Full of major hoops schools who have better recruiting inroads in Chicago than Nebraska.

In all honesty, no black people want to go to those places.
The Palouse is isolated, tiny, snowy and cold with only white people.
Corvallis is like Mayberry...old hick white people and the big store is a Woolworths.

Do too.
Penn State was never in NCAA tournament when ind. Hope for nit is their ceiling.
Rutgers had one ncaa final four 30 years ago when they had a future NBA guy.
Nothing since.

Can't imagine who they would be replaced with besides Northwestern.
Posted on 3/26/19 at 5:52 pm to Jack Ruby
That list could be top 5 schools that don't care about basketball.

It's a giant wheatfield.
Hundreds of miles from a couple of medium sized cities.
