Darnold threw 4 INTs today in a game they lost by 2.
I don’t fault them for moving on he was not the answer.
But not sure McCarthy is either. Both can be true

McCarthy was one of those draft picks that seemed so bad on the surface that I just assumed the experts knew something I didn’t.

And still far and away a better QB than JJ.

In inconceivable how bad JJ is. He has all time worst top 10 pick potential
Not at all
Many said he was bad going into draft

Good for Minnesota, I don’t like them.

McCarthy just played the sixth game of his career. Kinda insane to try to come to any conclusions on him as a QB
His first pick was a late throw and was definitely on him. His second was actually a good decision and pretty good throw deep into the endzone. The DB just made a really good play on it. Most of the time that was a TD.
Interceptions are weird for QBs because not throwing one could mean the QB is awesome, the defense just sucks, or that the QB is hesitant to take a chance and checks down all the time. With young QBs I kinda want them pushing downfield and taking chances, which is definitely what McCarthy has been doing.
ETA: McCarthy’s biggest issue is that every throw is a freaking missile. He needs more touch on different types of throws.

Imagine a year ago criticizing teams for moving on from Sam Darnold and Daniel Jones

He’s in as good of a situation as a qb can be and he’s had basically two good quarters in six games.

He's in year 2 of his rookie deal. He doesn't have long to make the pick seem worthy.
He also had the luck of sitting his first year to acclimate and he still looks horrid. That's not typically a good sign

I can't blame them for not wanting to run with Daniel Jones as the starting QB. Many thought he would be a backup for the rest of his career after getting run out of New York.

I actually thought with KOC and the talent around him he’d end up panning out just because the situation is so good, even if I wasn’t sold on him as a prospect. He looks absolutely fricking terrible, especially since he’s come back from being hurt
