Watching these dudes destroy the course—what is the record for most players to get it to double figures in the red at any time during the tourney?—and I’m trying to remember how Tiger won this last year. He’s not capable of 20 under like it appears DJ is looking at.

So besides how soft the greens have been, what are the biggest differences? I think no crowd is a HUGE advantage for most of the field. Tiger always thrived off of the energy—and I’m sure a few other guys did too—but the no gallery has got to take away a lot of the anxiety most guys would normally have. They know it’s Augusta. They know it’s the Masters. But I don’t think it’s possible for them to not feel like this is a little exhibition-y relative to all the other majors they’ve played pre-2020. That’s got to have calmed some nerves and helped lead to all these ridiculous scores.

Not having crowds helped most of the field.

The soft fairways and greens have made most of the difference. Mid-irons are stopping where they land on the green.

When DJ is focused and hitting it well he can destroy any course you put him on.

Ancer isn’t a real Mexican, he and his caddy communicate in English.

They just talked about the lack of wind this week. It never blows hard, but it often swirls, which makes it difficult to judge your iron shots.

The only day we had any wind here was Thursday. Yesterday and today it has been fairly calm.

JT such a disappointing finish. He was the one guy who could give dj a run.

Don’t sleep on Cameron Smith. His accent and peach fuzz stache could confuse DJ and create an opening for the field.

ETA - shite, who’s in the final threesome? Him or Ancer? They both carded the same score and hit the clubhouse at the same time.

Reminds me of when Angel Cabrera won at Oakmont and they barely showed him because he was pounding cigs between every shot.

If DJ is with Smith and Im, he's going to think he's playing on a different continent. Like Canada or Alaska or something.

Yep there has been no wind and with the amount of rain the greens are just super soft. Add in no fans and it’s playing easy
