Didn't Augusta put that vacuum system in about 10 years ago so they can have total control over how wet or dry the course is?

ETA: The system is called SubAir. It was originally intended as an aerator to help the grass grow better but when they reverse the flow it works as a vacuum to drain water off faster. Several courses have it. Augusta has it on all greens and some fairway landing areas.

I think these cameras make it look way more light out than it really is. I mean, shite, I'm in the central time zone and I'd be thinking about calling it right now if I was playing a round here.

When will they start this tomorrow? No way they get everyone through two rounds unless they pull some funny business.

They really can't go off any earlier than they did today. Sunrise is 6:58 AM in Augusta and the first tee times this morning were at 7:00 AM. They're just going to have to finish round 2 Saturday morning. They probably should have maybe considered groups of 4 Thurs/Fri under the circumstances of limited daylight but I guess it's too late for that now

Wait...Michelle...if the greens are slower wouldn't they be breaking MORE, not less?

No, she's right. Slower greens means you hit putts harder and they break less. Faster greens=softer hits= more break to play

Will they flip the tee times such that the late group today will finish early tomorrow then start round 2 as the late group again?

They were delayed over 2.5 hours today, and only 2 groups I think didn't finish 9. I'm sure I'm missing some non-actice time, but they'll get pretty close to getting everyone through 2 tomorrow.

Entire course has this system now I believe they put in in 100% a about 3-4 years ago.
