Didn’t make any claims about the teams you listed yet you created some straw man where I did so you could use it against an argument I didn’t make. It also has nothing to do with the comment you responded to which was another poster comparing 2025 Indiana, a team he said was arguably the best ever, to 2011 LSU acting as if they had the same resume or Indiana’s was worse. I also gave other reasons, the actual reasons, the schedule comment was just against the narrative that they had played one of the best schedules ever. This is what people like you do, ad hominem, straw men, deflections, non sequiturs. Childish appeals to emotion and smear tactics.

lol yes but look at those records. You claim great schedule with that as the meat
LSU played and beat 5 of the top 18 teams at the end of that season (including 1, 4 and 5).

Ok, they still have the worst offense and by far worst QB of any team on the list. The reason they couldn’t make a first down or cross midfield in the title game is the reason for my argument.

Lead with that instead of the retard argument of “their schedule was super easy if you take out all the good teams they played”

Do you know how to read? Thats exactly what I lead with. The emotional crying and dishonesty is only a reflection of you buddy.

Non sequitur. Did you just learn that word? No emotions, just making an astute observation based on your behavior. 2011 LSU did play a difficult schedule. Just because they played some crappy teams does not mean they didn’t play a tough schedule.
This is an interesting hill to die on.

More of the same, insults, straw men and dishonesty.

What kind of trouble you causing in here???

There’s still this irrational, emotional attachment to that team from a certain generation for some reason. Do you remember even years after that season some fans were still claiming we went undefeated? Lol weirdest shite I’ve ever seen.

If it weren't for the mulligan that would be a strong candidate for the GOAT college team. We would have wins against the PAC, Big East, and Big XII champs before there was a playoff.
GOAT college season, but not GOAT college team.
That offense was way too flawed and anyone that watched the season finale vs Arkansas or the SEC Championship vs UGA before the Honey Badger lightning rods that reset all momentum could see the writing on the wall.

What people gloss over is that the QB who got them to the #1 spot wasn’t the QB really after the Kentucky game. If you remember or just go back and watch without Lee we may lose the State and WVU games. So it’s like we’re talking about 2 different teams because anybody with a brain knew, with a month to prepare even an average defense was going to stop the passing game. Ppl love to give him credit for the Bama win when he scored 0 points and accounted for 3 first downs (1passing). With Jefferson at QB that wasn’t a contending team.

I don’t think 2011 was an all-time great, but if they would have drawn Oklahoma State, they would have been regarded as one of the greats. 1/9/12 makes them look worse than they really were, IMO

It didn’t make them look worse, it exposed them with JJ at QB. If Jefferson doesn’t attack that guy at the bar and isn’t suspended LSU isn’t even in the conversation that year. Lee, for all his faults, was leading the SEC in passer rating and made teams defend the field at least. With JJ you could just load the box with as many guys as you wanted. It changes everything.

Don’t get me wrong I loved that team and until Kentucky I thought we were going to win it or at least had a chance vs Bama to get there but once I saw Miles was going to push Lee out asap I knew we were cooked.

It is amazing on how that team seem to dominate based on talent alone. Every team they played basically knew what was coming and still could not stop it for the most part..

The defense was great and we had a unique player on that D who was also great on special teams. That team scored alot of non offensive TDs.

I understand why Les would think JJ was right to start, but when the offense sputtered, I thought he should have went to Lee (I mean, how much worse could it get?). That game was still within reach until the fourth. After LSU beat Bama, I thought that they would win the natty until they had to play Bama; I knew that Bama was the only team that could/would beat them. Rematches seem to favor the team who loses the first one, especially if they're evenly matched (at least it seems that way). And it's hard to beat a Saban-led team twice. LSU's defense was so good, it masked a lot of issues on offense; I mean, they destroyed Georgia 42-10 with only 30 yards passing.
Truthfully, I would say, the best teams of BCS to not win would be (in no particular order):
2005 USC (one foot from a Natty)
2003 USC (did not get a chance to play for Natty)
2009 Florida
2001 Florida (would have lost to Miami, though)
1998 Kansas State (I think they were better than Ohio State)
2004 Auburn

Which calls into question the entire way he handled that situation from the jump. A lot of people forget the Bama game wasn’t Lee starting then getting pulled for the INTs. They were rotating from the start of the game. There’s this Mandela effect that Miles bringing JJ in saved the game but what really happened was he undermined his starter to begin with. So he was never going to pull JJ again, I know that seems crazy but if you follow from Kentucky and remember how the Bama game actually started it was obvious. It was never Lee’s job, he didn’t lose it, he was always going to be benched no matter what.
