I think the timing of the 2 days rest affected CP3, too.
In Pels series, he got the extra day of rest ahead of Game 3 and Suns were able to steal one in New Orleans. In Mavs series, the 2nd day of rest didn't come until before Game 7, so CP3 was likely drained already after the first 6 games of going game 1, day off, game 2, day off, etc.

Maybe the Mavs just handled the pick and roll better.

And this miraculously turned him into a bum in game 3 on against Mavs? He was good to great in 4 straight games at end of Pels series and beginning of Mavs series.
The Mavs wore him down cause Luka and Brunson were abusing him in the post. They made him defend, and they were physical. Also, Bullock was harassing him full court.

Not emergency pods. Also, Bill Simmons is a jackass. The Charles Barkley of podcasting. He’s a good listen cause he has interesting guests and he doesn’t realize he’s a jackass and people are laughing at him not with him.

Barkley is hilarious, but also dumb as shite. Simmons is a jackass. But, they both honestly believe people listen to them because of the great expert knowledge and insight they have.
I think Barkley is more aware and in on the joke than Simmons. Simmons is surrounded by people who don’t challenge any of the dumb shite he says. Only Russillo really mocks him to his face.

Mavs got off to a slow start and also had Luka miss a month that led to the Mavs finishing the season where they did.
