In 2019 these 2 looked like the next bright stars in MLB

Bellinger
Torres

What happened? I see a lot of Bellingers ab’s and pitchers all get him out the same way. High and tight hard. Can’t say what happened to Torres power

Funny thing about Torrea is hit hard hit rate has gone down but his strikeout rate is down from 2019 and his walk rate is up, he is even hitting more line drives.

So he has identified the strike better but will only hit a quarter of the HRs? Pretty fascinating

His iso power has gone from .256 in 2019 to 0.095 this season. His hard hit percentage has only dropped from 39% to 37%. He is hitting more ground balls and less fly balls though

Bellinger had a broken leg and shoulder surgery. Leg injuries can take a year to heal and longer to get your strength back.

That could explain his power dropping but the dude has gone from a .380 OBP to .240 this season... He has completely lost it at the plate with his .165/.240/.304 line

I think he pulled a hammy too with those injuries. It may take him a while.

It's almost like they knew what to expect at the plate and, then, suddenly their ability to pick up what pitch was coming next vanished...

Are you saying that knowing the pitch coming is more important than juiced baseballs and sticky stuff?

Bellinger went from league MVP in 2019 to being one of the worst hitters in baseball. The guy would need to raise his average 33 points just to reach the Mendoza Line!!!

Bellinger seems like injuries.

Torres needed that juiced ball

That's the problem with the MLB and ESPN trying to anoint every good young player as the next great player... Some guys take a while for the scouts to figure out.

Nomar garciaparra was my favorite player. Would he be considered overrated by today’s standards. Even back then people always said he was. It hurt my 12 year old heart. 35 now so maybe I was 12 idk
