He was overrated in the sense that some people were claiming he was going down as one of the best shortstops ever. He had an amazing slash line in Boston of .323/.370/.521. His OPS+ was 133 and racked up 41.3 WAR over those 9 season too. He would still be considered a really good player even in the analytics world.
