Actually it is. It’s the end zone

But a recovered forward fumble is. A fumble advances the ball. The reason it goes to the spot of the fumble if it goes out of bounds is an exception, not the rule. If it goes out of bounds at the 8, it could go forward to the 7 as well. If it goes out of bounds in the endzone, there's no more forward advancement to go past the endzone, so that's why the exception doesn't kick into effect in the endzone.
It's not hard, you're just being obtuse. There's no where else for it to go out of bounds other than the endzone or the field of play. Think of both the endzone and out of bounds as outside the field of play, only play is allowed to continue in the endzone if the offense doesn't have possession. But because it's outside the field of play, the rules for going out of bounds in the field of play don't apply.
There's a bunch of different ways to explain it, you just don't want to listen to it after years of having it explained to you.

when I started watching nfl if you could get up you could. so guys were hitting people on the ground. the college rule prevents nailing guys in a vulnerable position..

The difference is you can score 7 points by controlling the ball over the line. It prevents players from being reckless trying to dive in the end zone without control of the ball when they’re near the sideline. This might be a hot take, but I actually like the rule.
I agree. The end-zone is a special place. Don’t fumble there.

you are stupid not the rule.

The rule I think is inconsistent is when you are downing a punt. Wherever the punt team touches it, it is spotted there whether there is control or not…but the punt team requires possession of the ball before it goes in the end zone… Why isn’t just touching it in the field of play good enough to get a spot?

The dumbest rule is getting points taking off the board for celebration before getting in the end zone. Personal foul, 15 yards, I’m good with that, but not disallowing a TD.

NIL…paying players to commit to your school is pretty dumb.

This^^^ I despise celebration penalties. The game is for entertainment in case anyone was wondering. As long as it's not blatant taunting of the other team, celebration during and after the play should be allowed, especially on scoring plays.

That's because it's illegal touching, but play is allowed to continue if they don't have possession. That's why the returner is free to try to get the ball and return it without risk of a turnover after the punting team has already touched it and they can choose to return to the spot of the illegal touch if that's more favorable to them.
Obviously a touchback is more favorable than being illegally touched at the 5 yard line so the offense chooses the touchback every time if the ball breaks the plane after illegal touching.

I think the dumbest rule in all of football is that the goaline goes around the world.

By rule, the call was correct. It was just a stupid arse rule.

The dumbest rule in college football is offsetting penalties in the specific case where one team commits more on one play than the opposite team. See LSU/Bama game in 2016.

This is true across all levels of football. 2 live ball fouls, 1 on each team, will always offset.

That's an NFL rule, baw. College and Hugh school it's a flat 15 yd.penalty w/no automatic 1st down unless the yardage allows it.

It should be different. Touchdowns should be harder to score. You should have to protect the ball more. Why should it be the same?
