I agree they have an amazing atmosphere. It’s honestly a shame at what they are.

I remember their inaugural year they consistently had 45,000 plus fans at mile high stadium every single game. I think they had well over 4,000,000 people in attendance for the season.

Might be the worst run franchise in pro sports

As long as the Pirates and A's exist, this can't be true.

If they go 21 season without a winning record as well as have a losing record 28 out of 31 years, then they can take the mantle from the Pirates. Hard as it is to believe, after all that sustained failure, the Pirates have an all time win percentage over .500

Thanks to the 60’s and 70’s.

But I don’t care what anyone says. The Cleveland browns are the worst run franchise period.

Good call. The Browns engage in futility like few others even dare.

I still think the humidor was one of the dumbest ideas in sports and it hasn't done the franchise any good.

I went to tons of games in the 1990s and it was a blast with the Blake Street Bombers and crazy offense game after game. The humidor neutered what was unique about playing games at altitude.

The farm system being so mediocre is what’s really inexcusable. It’s not like they’ve been going for an Astros rebuild with stockpiling and developing talent, particularly with no playoffs in 7 years. They’re just pathetic

They do things like salary dump Nolan Arenado only to sign washed up Kris Bryant to a massive contract the next year.

I hate it for them because I love their color scheme, logo and their park.

In general if you follow them they just make very few moves of any kind. When they’re completely out of it, they still rarely trade pending free agents to get some prospects and just let them expire instead (Story, Jon Gray to name a couple big ones). When they were actually pretty good in 2017/18, they did very little to meaningfully upgrade the roster and make a run.

They rarely sign free agents except Kris Bryant for some unknown reason. They almost never make trades from positions of strength to upgrade areas of need in their system. Not saying they need to be a Tampa or San Diego who are constantly doing this stuff but they operate like they aren’t allowed to make transactions

Coors Field is on my list of stadiums I want to go too one day.

A lot of new development is built up around it giving you options to hang out before the game. The stadium is fine, but not remarkable. Sadly, it was built (mid 90's) at the end of the era where bigger is better, so it's not quite as intimate as many of the stadiums that came after it. That size really shows up when there is low attendance.

The food is decent. The beer selection is good (even if you don't like Coors). Night game weather, even in the heart of the summer is great. I've been to 9 (current) MLB stadiums and would probably put Coors in the bottom half of that list overall...but it's still not bad. #1 is PetCo Park (San Diego) on a Friday night in August vs. the Dodgers. That was the best atmosphere for a non playoff game I've ever been a part of. PetCo is a GREAT ball park.

I think their fanbase has finally given up as whole this year which is sad. Because you’re absolutely right, they showed up quite well despite how bad to mediocre they’ve been for their entire history and Coors Field is a gem.

I have heard before that the front office doesn't have much incentive to win because the Rockies do well on attendance numbers and ultimately turn a good profit despite being so consistently terrible

My visited parks list is mainly stadiums that no longer host teams, most of which were considered abominations.

Alameda County Stafium, Metrodome, Astrodome, Jack Murphy, etc.

The only two hallowed stadiums on the list are old Yankee’s Stadium and Fenway.

Great American ballpark is awesome. Went there when I was 13 with my family and had a blast.

I’ve been to:
Old Turner field
Minute Maid
Nationals park
Great American ballpark
New Busch stadium

Plans to go to:

Steinbrenner park this year (tons of work trips in Tampa area)
Rangers stadium
Hopefully Kauffman
Citi field if I can swing it while in New York.

My parents started the idea of seeing every ballpark as a kid so I’m trying to continue that. So far, my favorite has probably been Minute Maid but that was my first and the one I’ve seen the most as a kid so there’s probably a nostalgia factor in there. I’ll never forget Aubrey Huff as the Hulk on the big screen
