That is one of the worst tweener attempts I’ve ever seen a male pro make.

This is an epic choke job / melt by Fritz. Reminiscent of 2022 Wimbledon QF versus injured Nadal.

Gonna need a Fritz win here. What’s it been, 21 years now since an American male has hoisted up a grand slam? Andy Roddick in 03, right? Wouldn’t mind Novak adding another to his trophy case either.

Could Djokovic have asked for a better couple of days? He will destroy Musetti in the Semis. That was a totally disappointing showing from Fritz. Damn I had high hopes.

Yeah you could not have drawn up a better draw for Djokovic to make it to the final. A bunch of nobodies in the first couple rounds, and then Rune (overrated and not in the same league as the top tier players) and a walk over in the quarter against Di Minaur. He would have beat De Minaur anyways, but he did not even have to play a single point. He avoids having to play anyone who can actually cause him trouble until the final, since he avoided the side of the draw with Med, Sinner, Carlos etc.

And now he gets a semi against Musetti. Musetti is a good player but he will be lucky to take a set off of Djoker on grass.

Could tell that Fritz was super tight from 2nd set tiebreaker through the entire 3rd set. Loosened up some in 4th set and won, then got tight again in the 5th set.

Definitely a choke / melt on Fritz's part and very disappointing considering 2022 QF versus Rafa when he was up 2 sets to 1 and then similarly got tight and couldn't put Rafa away.

Real question now is if Fritz can recover from this kind of loss. Losing a Slam QF as a -500 favorite on a surface built for your game.

At least he'll always have 2022 Indian Wells.

Won't be long until Fritz is the #3 American behind Paul and Shelton.

He doesn't set the draws. He will make the final and some will perceive him as the underdog, but his mental strength is second to no one. If he does when it all, I will not stop letting Fedal clown fans know about it.

I would have murdered someone if I had Centre Court tickets today. After dealing with the De Minaur withdrawal and not seeing the GOAT, then you would have to suffer the indignity of mixed doubles and senior doubles while Fritz and Musetti stay on Court One.

Fritz said the wind caused him problems, not only on serve, but that Musetti played "chip and run" and he had trouble planting and driving balls off of that. It warms my heart when world class players have trouble with junkball. I would be salty if I was Taylor that they weren't moved to Centre Court.

I’m assuming chip and run is the opposite of chip and charge?

So is he the favorite now since he didn't have to play today?
