Hendricks is real. I'd buy his stock.

I'd also expect an addition to your rotation at some point.

I see a fight. Not a landslide, which is the consensus prediction.

I agree. I think it will be closer than it was last year.

The combo of Schwarber, Bryant, Rizzo, Zobrist has the potential to be deadly man thats a pretty tough 1-4.

Fake news.

Great example of how a false narrative can take over the conscious of people with casual interest.

Lester pitched a gem yesterday..... Arrieta is a toss up on weather he'll bounce back to his Cy young form. Hendricks has the makings of a stud #2 and hopefully we can get another good year outta lackey. Out bullpen is pretty good and offense is loaded. I'll take our chances.

I wouldn't go that far.

I'm going to wait awhile before I give the bullpen a grade.

Last night was a rough start.

He was on the ropes all night, far from a gem.

He also clearly lost his emotions and became upset with his catcher -- the loss of Ross will become a story as the season unfolds.

Post the rotations and bullpens side by side and point out where the cards have the big advantages

By 'analysts' do you mean the ones your organization stole all of your player development and scouting info from by way of corporate espionage therefore sending baseball personell people to federal prison??..

.... or do you mean the talking hair-dos who pick everything wrong every year??

I'm sure the Cardinals can hack it.

The Cubs are deeper and better than the Cardinals across the board...but not by a whole lot. Still deeper and better, if only slightly, at most positions equals 5 games.
Cubs struggled to beat injury ravaged Cleveland by a whisker last year. They didn't wallop anyone like, say, the Mets walloped them the previous year or the Royals walloped the Mets. Certainly not buying the "Cubs dominated baseball" story.

Touchy Cubs fans...
Of course, I only said a couple of things about the Cubs and I was correct on both.
They would have an inflated record because they were in a division with 2 rebuilders...Correct.
But what set you off was when I said Starlin Castro had a bad contract and little trade value...then they dispatched him for a middle reliever.
Don't feel bad, the Indians are in a division this year like the NL Central was last year...they will win 104 games, and ESPN and Casey Stern will then lecture everyone that they will dominate baseball for years to come.

I've hated Castro since about his debut so not sure what you're talking about. We can bump some threads tomorrow and I doubt you'll stick around to own them

Before I respond I want to be clear that I think OP is an alter and/or troll

quote:

Depends on if the rotation can stay healthy. They have been a mess

Now, the lineup may be a bit underrated but the rotation is shaky. If we lose even one guy to injury It will not be pretty

As far as the Cubs, I don't have a clue about Arietta but I imagine Lackey will be just fine. The guy is a vet that knows how to pitch

Cardinals took down the champs with their ace on the mound. It's not much of a reach for them to win the central. They have owned that division the last 20 years.
