Basketball would be number 1 by a large margin. No reason why Arizona can’t be a strong football school with the right coach.

It’s more likely they would push the Big Ten to take them and give up a cut of the TV deal in order to not be stuck in the PAC.

But it probably does make it the #3 P5 football conference and a strong basketball conference

It's already the best basketball conference in the country by a large margin. This conference would be insane with Kansas, Houston, Baylor, and Arizona (4 of the current Top 8 teams).

Oregon State, Washington State, and Boise State will be a fun PNW rivalry in the Mountain West.

Decent chance for one of them to be in the playoffs every year.

College football is headed down that path.

College football is already a regional sport

Really only people in the South and Midwest care

The sooner all of this happens the sooner we can get the sport to the next 50 years of college football. I truly believe the B1G and SEC will go to 20-24 teams with the PAC and and ACC going under…yes the ACC!! I don’t care about their deal, because if most of the league leaves for the B1G and SEC, there is no exit fee if the conference folds.

B1G EAST:

Penn State
Maryland
Rutgers
Virginia
North Carolina
Duke
Georgia Tech
Florida State

B1G CENTRAL:

Ohio State
Michigan
Michigan State
Notre Dame
Indiana
Purdue
Illinois
Northwestern

B1G WEST:

Wisconsin
Iowa
Nebraska
Minnesota
USC
UCLA
Oregon
Washington

Then SEC grabs the rest of the worthy ACC schools.

SEC EAST:

Georgia
Florida
Kentucky
Tennessee
South Carolina
Vanderbilt
Clemson
Virginia Tech
NC State
Miami

SEC WEST:

Alabama
Auburn
Ole Miss
Miss State
LSU
Arkansas
Missouri
Texas
Texas AM
Oklahoma

Big 12 grabs 4 schools from the PAC.

BIG 16:

Kansas
Kansas State
Iowa State
Oklahoma State
Baylor
TCU
West Virginia
Texas Tech
Cincinnati
Houston
BYU
UCF
Arizona
Arizona State
Utah
Colorado

MWC then adds the remaining PAC schools.

MWC NORTH:

Oregon State
Washington State
Boise State
Nevada
Utah State
Colorado State
Wyoming
Air Force

MWC SOUTH:

Cal
Stanford
San Jose State
Fresno State
San Diego State
UNLV
Hawaii
New Mexico

After that…the Sunbelt has an opportunity to grow by adding AAC schools.

Sun Belt could grow just by adding the ACC left overs like Wake and Louisville.

I think eventually the B12 will get Pitt, VT, and NC State once the ACC breaks up

Louisville is not going to be left out. Most likely the Big 12 if all else fails

Except it would be called the PAC 16 and hope that the world considers it the successor of the PAC 12

Washington is tied to Washington State so one school can't leave for a conference unless the other is invited. Washington is also on the outs right now with the rest of the PAC-12 minus Washington State and Cal who are the three Board members guiding the Pac-12. Oregon is beyond pissed at Washington so much so that Oregon has now reached out to the Big 12. The invite to the Big 10 is not coming to Oregon. The implosion will take place within the next two weeks.
