Wemby had more dirty plays in this playoff run than Dort’s had in his whole career.

From the Oklahoma City National Memorial Museum about the connection between OKC & NYC

Spurs were better, just found a way to choke over and over.

That's not how this works. In a best of seven series, very rarely does the better team lose. The Spurs weren't the better team. The Knicks actually exposed a bunch of their flaws, Wemby in particular.

Seeing as how you fell for the “Wemby tried to take out OG’s ACL” propaganda and started the thread sharing that nonsense, you’ll have to forgive me for doubting you

CLE wouldn’t have defeated healthy or even down 1 guy OKC but once they had all those guys who couldn’t go it was pretty clear that the ECF winner would be the champ.

We had an actual dirty player on our team back in the day(Bruce Bowen).
I hated that skinny, globe, light-bulb head dude! He was dirty, but somehow would windup on NBA All-Defensive teams. I'm like what??

Spurs thought they won it all by defeating a depleted Thunder squad. OKC returns to full form in 2026-27 and takes back control of the West!!!

If SA had lost Game 7 to OKC everyone would still believe they are the team of the future. Hopefully in 5 years it’ll be a testament that even this skinny immature version of Wemby got them to the Finals ahead of schedule. He needs to reach his final form.

Tremendous insight! What gave it away? Was it the 4 to 1 domination performance?

Thanks Nostradomus

OP came out of retirement just to hype up his Spurs. He probably felt obligated to tip his cap before hibernating again

After only winning 30 games last year, it feels like the Spurs were way ahead of schedule.

Wemby will get better. Castle will get better. Harper wil get better.

I'm glad the Knicks got them one, it's well deserved. But I do still think once this Spurs team reaches their peak, they will be damn near unbeatable.

Good to see you! I'm mostly on Twitter these days but I'll peek back in here occasionally.

Same! He's awesome as a player and a personality. Have liked him since his Pels days.

Essentially I'll pop up here and there when the Spurs or A&M does something of note (which explains my extended absences ).

Knicks deserved a hat tip regardless, though. Only the second team to ever beat SA in a Finals. First that wasn't favored to do so. They played tremendously.

Yep. Future can be bright for SA if they learn from this. The West is brutal, but as a fan, I think all you can ask for is to contend for a title while you have a strong core. I’m excited for next year.
