Feel like I’m taking crazy pills with everyone saying Bucs >>> Saints when NO is 4-1 against Tompa.
What are the playoff records of both teams since Tom Brady landed in that division?

I mean really, bro.

ETA: Buccs are 5-1 with a Super Bowl ring. Saints are 1-1.

Head-to-head is a much better indicator than trying to use the transitive property. We have a 5-game sample size.

When one team wins 4/5, some of them in dominating fashion and the loss very close/flukey in a league with as much parity as the NFL, that’s about as clear as it gets.

There was even a freaking shutout.

ETA: The only reason we didn’t win the division for a 5th straight time is that they injured our QB on a dirty play. We own them.

Head-to-head is more meaningful than playoff success?

That’s the point here.

Sure, the Saints were 4-0 against the Buccs during the regular season, but what happened in the playoffs the year before last? They lost, to the Buccs. The Buccs then proceeded to win the Super Bowl. What happened in the playoffs last year? The Buccs went 1-1 while the Saints sat at home.

Who has the better team in 2022? The Buccs.

When it comes to comparing two teams yes. Aside from one game they played different opponents in the playoffs, so it’s apples to oranges.

I care about who wins the games.
Don’t make me pull out Herm.

Well, yeah, winning is all that matters in the playoffs — no matter who you play.

I hate I’m having to defend anything related to Tom Brady in here, but the truth is the truth.

Buccs > Saints the last 2 years, and it’s about to be 3.

That’s just not accurate when one team has won 4 of the 5 matchups. 80%.

34-23
38-3
20-30
36-27
9-0

That’s dominance. Who knows what’ll happen this year, but without our QB1 (whom they took out) and WR1 we just didn’t let them score.

If you really believe this, find a bookie. Nobody expects the birds to make the playoffs so you will get some good odds.

?????

Tampa got their one when it counted and then got a Super Bowl. The four Saints wins mean jack shite.

You shouldn’t discount that Jared Cook fumbled when the Saints were going to go up 10 or 14 late in the 3rd Q.

That game ended up hella flukey. Brees threw like 3 ints in the 4th Q, which he never does. Guys were fumbling, running wrong routes, etc. We also had a punt return TD called back in that game.

But all the shenanigans started with that ridiculous fumble. Otherwise that game was following the same easy Saints win over the Bucs blueprint as the other 4 games. Occasionally outlier results happen. It definitely doesn’t mean that 1 team is better than the other when they win 1 out of the 5. And that win is sandwiched directly in between 4 beatdowns.

Props to what the Bucs did after that. They knew they could beat anyone remaining once they got by the team that literally owns them.

This. Now, were we going to get held to under 20 in GB? Probably. But that’s beside the point.

No one should fear any team this year then lol

You gotta be a moron if you don’t think the Saints will more than likely win the division if they can stay healthy with the weapons they have this year.

They are so proud of their regular season wins, aren’t they? I guarantee they would trade every win against the Buccs from the last two seasons for the Super Bowl ring and the Buccs’ playoff success since Tom Brady got there.

Well, seeing as the topic is the Falcons “making the playoffs”, the regular season is kind of important. The Saints have been very good for 4 of the last 5 years, and were a winning team while playing half the season without their starting QB in the one season they weren’t very good. They’ve also made roster moves that made them better, not worse.

So, the notion that the saints are a good team isn’t crazy at all. It just makes opposing fans butthurt to admit it.
