It is such an ignorant argument to say because the Saints haven’t been quite as successful as the bucs the last couple years they don’t belong in the conversation for the division and are somehow closer to the bottom dwellers. The comment that the Saints and bucs are clearly the 2 best teams and class of the division was 100% correct. Anybody with an ounce of nfl knowledge recognizes this. The Saints absolutely have a playoff caliber roster, probably close to a top 10 overall roster with a significant question mark at qb. To argue otherwise is laughable bad. They don’t have to be as good as the bucs to still belong in the conversation about the strength of the division at the top. Y’all are either just sour falcon’s fans or really don’t watch football.

Nobody said they aren’t good. They aren’t in the conversation with the Buccs, and the Falcons aren’t in the conversation with either. The Falcons suck and so do the Panthers. The division as a whole is terrible from a historical and current standpoint.

You should try reading through the thread again.

You have to go all the way back to 2020 for the last time the Saints won the division, and they’re 4-1 against Brady there. Last year, they went 2-0 against Brady, and won 9 games without their starting QB and missing the only good WR on the roster for the entire season.

Saying they aren’t in the conversation for the division is laughable.

Saints were a 49ers loss away from making the playoffs with bottom rung quarterbacking and absolutely no receivers.

Yea, with Sean Payton

Kneeler 9 is gone, Brady will be gone next year and the NFC South will again be the worst division in the league. The Falcons will continue to suck as always.

First of all yes multiple people posted in this thread that the Saints aren’t good. I know words are tough and all but try a little bit. Secondly I completely disagree that the Saints aren’t in the conversation with the Bucs. The Bucs should be the favorites but it wouldn’t be shocking if the Saints won the division. There is 2 clear tiers in this division. The contenders (Saints and Bucs) with the Bucs as the favorites and the bottom dwellers (Panthers and Falcons).

And I disagree. As I’ve said, I don’t think they’re a bad team. I do think they are trending down post-Brees/Payton.

Buddy, I’m not reading through an entire thread of Saints and Falcons fans pissing in the wind.

For anyone outside of New Orleans, it would be.

Yea, Jameis Winston sucks. Who cares?

It’s so amazing that NO Saints fans don’t trash that trash can anymore since he’s on their team. But yeah, when he was in Tampa Bay, the Saints fans talked about how dogshit he was.

I think they’re going by his performance before he was injured. When he had no weapons. Idk if a team has ever upgraded their weapons from one season to the next more than the saints this year.

I’m not even a huge fan or anything, but they have a great defense obviously and they add Winston back and then Jarvis, tm, olave, and Michael Thomas. Not to mention a first round tackle who’s as nasty as you will see coming out of college. He may not start right away but when he does he will bring a mean streak to that line.

Jamie’s had good stats with no receivers last year. The loss of Sean Payton isn’t as big as people think. Maybe now they won’t force taysom on the offense

He was the best coach in Saints history BY FAR.

It isn’t big, it’s huge.

Let’s be logical.

And a historically great coach in general

As a Saint fan, I'm bracing myself for the worst, but I'm hoping Pete and Dennis Allen learned how CSP had continued success here

Winston is a bottom tier NFL QB, and the Saints were 5-2 with him while his best receiver was Marquez Callaway.

Like I said before, the saints were a 9 win team in 2021 and have improved on both sides of the ball. They will be in contention for their 5th division title in 6 years no matter how much it bothers you.

Maybe don’t make statements about what people aren’t saying in the thread, if you aren’t going to bother reading what people are saying in the thread.

Absolutely. I’m not too high on Dennis Allen as a HC, but I did enjoy his defense during his time in Denver.

Some guys are great coordinators and bad head coaches. We’ll see what he is.

Lol Jameis is a known commodity at this point in his career

It's funny that 1 YOLO season under Arians makes that year the known commodity. Before Arians arrived, Winston led TB to the 5th & 3rd ranked offense; and while his numbers weren't great, he was an above average QB until the 30 INT season.

Also, while we don't know what style of offense they will run this year, I do not see Carmichael suddenly going to an air it out and push the defense style of offense Arians preferred to run before Brady put him in his place.
