I'm pretty sure upgrading SS is going to be at or near the top of AA's priority list this winter.

It’s now 10-0. That lead they blew Sunday broke them.

This is what I was talking about in yesterday's thread. Kind of had the sense that they might be losing their focus after that meltdown. Getting beaten 11-0 by a team nowhere near in the race, further shows this. We just need to win these series, and we stand a good chance of passing the D-backs, who we only need to tie. If we happen to pass the Mets, too, then great.

On a side note (and don't throw stones at me, everyone, I'm just making an observation), despite Schwellenback's last two starts going well, I can't help but notice some things are still off, going back to that bad outing against Toronto. He seems to suddenly be all but abandoning his splitter, which had really become his best secondary offering, and is instead throwing a lot more cutters and sliders, it appears, which he is not locating very well, but has managed to get away with it the last two starts. I also think his curveball is better than his slider or cutter, but he's not throwing that very much, either.

I know no one wants to hear that after a big win, but I'm just a little puzzled by the pitch selection, and the amount of missed locations. He looked spectacular with his command for about a month and a half before this last little stretch. I don't know if he's getting some good luck right now to get away with it, or if his deep pitch arsenal is keeping teams guessing enough to keep them off balance even when he makes a mistake. I guess it's a little of both. Gotta give him credit for making them put it in play, though. Some rookies would melt in a big spot like last night and walk their way out of the game by the 3rd inning. You can't say he pitches scared.

All of his pitches flash quality to "plus", but he's relying on his less consistent pitches right now, and I have no idea why. This is a weird time to start working more on other pitches. Anyone else noticing this?

Looking at forecasts, the Braves might not play the next 3 days. And I understand Braves baseball is going to be really low on the priority list in dealing with Helene, but curious how MLB will handle this.

Mets fan coming in peace because I know how this series will go.. but the MLB has a shite show on their hands with our series. Looking like the only option is to make us play a DH on Monday and then one or both us are gonna have to fly across the country for a WC series after likely having to use good pitchers in must win games the day before. Other option is flying down to Miami to play a DH tomorrow but that’s not fair to ATL. Just a joke MLB never seems to be ahead of stuff like this
